Armstrong goes 3-3 in 18U quarterfinals

Noah Armstrong is a first baseman, outfielder and pitcher on the New Mexico Gas Athletics baseball team from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He helped lead the Gas Athletics to a runner-up finish at the 18U division of the Baseball Showcase tournament this past weekend at Gene Autry Park in Mesa, Arizona. His contribution to his team’s effort included a 3-3 performance in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

“Coming into the tournament, I didn’t really have that much preparation because I was in Texas,” Armstrong said. “Just coming out here I had one approach and it’s been successful.”

The 18-year-old Armstrong recently graduated from El Dorado High School in Albuquerque. He has not committed to play baseball anywhere because he planned to join the military. However, he said he is now interested in playing college baseball and would love to play for Arizona State. Outside of baseball, he was involved in ROTC in high school. He said if baseball does not work out, he would still like to join the Air Force.
